Seizing the Door of Opportunity

In the previous article here, I talked about the fact that opportunity happens to all of us; that we are all equal before God and He, God, has loved us just as equally. This is a development of the article; seizing the door of opportunity.

Jesus was crucified alongside two thieves, one on his right and the other on his left. While one mocked Him, the other acknowledged his own sins and asked Jesus to remember him when He, Jesus, comes into His kingdom. On the same day that was set to be his end, the repentful thief received eternal life because he recognised his last chance as seen in the Scripture; "And Jesus said to him, 'Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in paradise" Luke 23:43. Even on that last day of his life, God was merciful and gave him another chance to receive life. He also opened his eyes to recognise that Jesus was the Christ and that he would come back again. Of all the people around, a thief crucified for breaking the state's law, was probably the first, if not the only one who knew and proclaimed that Jesus would come back.

Which doors of opportunity do you see open for you? Let's do today what we feel God is calling us to do, from the big things to the small ones. Being alert and sober at all times to see opportunity when it occurs. One of my prayers is that God gives me the grace to seize the opportunities He has for me. Stop procrastinating Salvation. After all, you can only be sure of now, tomorrow or even the next minute, is a gift. Secondly, you begin a new life and you have no idea of the plans that God has for you once you decide to take this step. When He calls us out of the world, God is not trying to take "life" from us, He is trying to give us life.

Repent Today; confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord. It may seem like the things of the world or living in sin is fun, but that is only because we view it from a point of darkness. You will never get enough of the world, because that really is the point. You will never be satisfied of the world either, because man was made to worship God and to have a relationship with Him.

Sin is death. The gift of life today and eternally is found in Salvation, the salvation of Jesus Christ.
